Miniature World Week of 3/24 - 3/28 Newsletter

This Week's Learning Focus

Spring is here, and we’re getting our hands dirty—in the best way! This week, we’ll explore gardening, plants, and the little critters that help gardens grow. The children will plant seeds, explore soil textures, and learn about bugs like ladybugs and worms through fun, hands-on activities.

Weekly Theme: 🌱 In the Garden 🌸

🌼 Highlights from This Week’s Lessons:

• Monday: Introduction to gardens – We’ll observe real plants, read Planting a Rainbow, and plant seeds in cups.

• Tuesday: Learning about garden tools – Children will explore real or toy gardening tools and help water plants!

• Wednesday: Bugs & insects – We’ll go on a bug hunt, pretend to be buzzing bees, and make fingerprint bug art.

• Thursday: Flowers & trees – We’ll do leaf rubbings, compare textures of real leaves, and practice Tree Pose Yoga!

• Friday: Garden celebration – Kids will take part in a Garden Sensory Walk to feel different textures (grass, leaves, soil) and play a “Move Like a Garden” game (hopping like a bunny, wiggling like a worm, buzzing like a bee).

🎶 Songs we’re singing: The Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Ants Go Marching, Five Little Flowers, and more!

📚 Featured books: Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert & The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle.
